Lynxes are easy to recognize

There are four lynx species in the world and our species is the largest of the four. The lynx has many characteristics that make it a feline that is easy to recognize. The tufts on the ears, the short black tail and the marked eyes give the lynx its special appearance. Both the tufts on the ears and the markings around the eyes are probably used when the lynxes communicate with each other.

Lodjuret; en smygande jägare

Lodjuret jagar genom att smyga sig nära inpå sitt byte. De har längre bakben än framben, vilket gör att de kan sprinta och hinna ikapp även riktigt snabba djur. Lodjuret kan springa fort i korta sträckor men är inte så uthålligt, å det gäller att vara snabb och fånga bytet! Här i Sverige jagar lodjuret framförallt gnagare, fåglar och rådjur.
